This year we welcome the Jacobs family to the spotlight. Bill has been a breath of fresh air to every gathering. Although a man that might not lead the pep rally, when Bill speaks, people listen. And his dry wit humor leads us all to laughter. I thank Bill, personally, for his commitment and dedication to the yearly weekend gathering. Thank you Shelli, and family, for allowing Bill to grace us with his presence each year!!
Please welcome Bill Jacobs and his beautiful family to the spotlight!
Please welcome Bill Jacobs and his beautiful family to the spotlight!
Bill and Shelli were married on November 20, 1993. They have four wonderful children, Chelsea 21 , Courtney 18, Clay 13, Carly 10
After graduating from Rollins, I moved back to my hometown of Lake Wales, FL. I began working part time at Bunting, Tripp & Ingley, LLP. In order to gain the necessary hours to sit for CPA exam, I began taking courses at Webber University. In January of 1994 I started working full time at the accounting firm and passed the CPA exam in 1995. I have worked there ever since and eventually I worked my way up to being a partner in the firm.
Our oldest daughter, Chelsea graduated from high school second in her class in June of 2013. Two short years later she graduated from Warner University with a bachelors in elementary education in May of 2015. Chelsea is a kindergarten teacher at the same elementary school where all the Jacobs children went to school and where Shelli works and Carly attends. She has been dating her boyfriend, Zack for 4 years. She enjoys following University of Florida athletics (we are season ticket holders for football) and she is an avid Tampa Bay Rays Fan.
Courtney graduates high school in June of this year. She will have her first year of college complete through the dual enrollment program at our local community college, Polk State College. While in high school Courtney took four years of courses in the schools Early Childhood Academy and just recently passed her CDA exam and is officially licensed to teach preschool. Courtney plans on completing her AA at Polk State this year and then wants to head off to earn her bachelor’s degree. She is leaning towards early childhood development or nursing. Courtney currently works as a nanny for a local family, and babysits numerous days and nights throughout the week for several families. She has a boyfriend whom she has dated for close to a year who is headed to Stetson University in the fall to play baseball.
Clay is in seventh grade and is consumed with bass fishing. During the year he plays on his middle school’s basketball team, plays travel baseball, and plays golf in some local junior events. He started with a golf coach when he was 10 years old and was never allowed to emulate his father's golf swing!
Carly is our “baby”, who isn’t such a baby anymore. She is in the fourth grade and is involved in fast pitch softball. She recently got the call to find out that she made the Little League all-star team for her age group and she is very excited about this. The many years of watching her brother play has paid off. She is extremely competitive in anything she does, as you might remember from the ping pong matches at Bonz’s house.
Our family enjoys spending time together as a group on the lake that we live on. Shelli and I both appreciate the fact that as Chelsea and Courtney get older they still enjoy doing things with their parents and the younger two siblings. It is common for our family to make a few trips to our favorite vacation spot, Anna Maria Island, on the west coast of Florida.
